Nice resource to study probability

# FA Cup Draw

A nice BBC page about the probabilities that lie behind the FA Cup Draw.

# Statistical Analysis

# Probability Spinners

A set of worksheets based around probabilities using spinners… which… nobody ever uses… except exam boards.

# Maze Generator

Great maze generator. Good opportunities to discuss algorithms and trial and error when you press ‘solve’. Awesome.

# Probability on the Football Pitch

This great upload by numberphile covers the football pitch birthday probability problem. In essence, the probability of sharing a birthday with someone in a football game (including the ref) is more than 50%. Weird but true. You can make a whole lesson out of this, (hint: use Google Calculator for the maths bit, as a normal calculator will die trying), then finish the lesson asking everyone in the class to declare their birthday. Chances are, there will be two the same!

# @flipAday @rollAday

Two twitter accounts that flip a coin once a day (@flipaday) or roll two dice (@rolladay) once a day. They’ve been running for over a year so it’s a good source to get some genuine large random data. They each have summary stats pages too.
