Area Problem #29 Posted on November 14, 2016 by solvemymaths What fraction is the shaded area of the equilateral triangle? Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading... Related

I think it is 2/9 (Two over nine). Area of the shaded area ÷ Area of the equilateral Area of the shaded area = (1.5unit×tan (60) – tan (60)) = 0.86602 Area of the equilateral = (3×1.5unit×tan(60)÷2) = 3.89711 0.86602 ÷ 3.89711 = 0.22222 Am I right? Reply

At (area of the triangle) and As (area of the shade), At/As = 9/4

At (triangle area), As (shaded area);

At/As = 9/4

I think it is 2/9 (Two over nine).

Area of the shaded area ÷ Area of the equilateral

Area of the shaded area = (1.5unit×tan (60) – tan (60)) = 0.86602

Area of the equilateral = (3×1.5unit×tan(60)÷2) = 3.89711

0.86602 ÷ 3.89711 = 0.22222

Am I right?
